AuthorBid AI is a product of AI GetWise, based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this service.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Account data: Your name, email address, and hashed password when you register
• Usage data: Proposals generated, job descriptions submitted, tone preferences, and usage counts
• Billing data: Subscription status and tier — your payment details are held by Stripe, not us
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, session identifiers, and login timestamps for security purposes

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health information, financial account details, or government identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate proposals using AI on your behalf
• Process subscription payments via Stripe
• Enforce usage limits per your subscription tier
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts)
• Improve the service through aggregated, anonymised usage analysis

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with a small number of trusted third-party services to operate AuthorBid AI:

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policy and data processing terms. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Proposals: Stored in your account until you delete them or request account deletion
• Account data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for legal and administrative purposes
• Security logs: Login attempts and session data are retained for up to 90 days
• Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required by UK financial regulations

You can delete individual proposals at any time from your History page. To request full account deletion, contact support@authorbid.com. Requests are processed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
• Restriction: Ask us to limit how we process your data
• Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
• Objection: Object to certain types of processing

7. Security

We take security seriously. Our measures include:

• Passwords stored using bcrypt hashing — never in plain text
• All connections secured via HTTPS with HSTS enforcement
• Brute force protection on login (IP-based lockout after failed attempts)
• Session fixation protection and automatic session expiry
• API keys and credentials stored securely server-side, never exposed to browsers
• Rate limiting on all AI-generating endpoints
• Access to sensitive files restricted via server configuration

While we take all reasonable precautions, no system is completely immune to security incidents. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@authorbid.com.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to operate the Service:

• Session cookie: Keeps you logged in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser or after your session times out.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies. No third-party cookies are set by our application.

9. Children

AuthorBid AI is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us at support@authorbid.com and we will delete the account promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the application. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.

Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
